Body of woman found in Bristol Township. Police investigating how she died

The body of a 44-year-old woman was found early Wednesday morning in a wooded area along the northbound lanes of Bristol Pike (Route 13) between Beaver Dam Road and Green Lane, Bristol Township police said.

The woman, who was found in a tent in an encampment, was identified as Marie Holly Waters, said Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi, who noted next of kin had been notified. There was no sign of foul play , the coroner said. The cause of death and when Waters died are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Police said that an emergency medical rescue team and police were called to the scene where the unresponsive victim was found at 6:40 a.m. The emergency squad determined the woman was deceased before the coroner’s office was called.

A source familiar with homeless encampments in Lower Bucks did not know the woman but said that there was a Code Blue on Tuesday night and if the woman had been able to get to one of the pickup locations for the Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need, she would have been taken to an overnight shelter.
