We shared driveway entrance with neighbors – they ‘held our home hostage’ and said we owed $15k but we’re a young family

A NEIGHBOR dispute over a shared bridge escalated to hiring tow trucks and lawyers after one couple claimed their home was being held for ransom.

Emily and Joseph Clark from Washington Township, New Jersey, were forced to share a bridge with their neighbors Steve and Shayesteh Lyons over Holes Creek to access their homes.

However, in June 2014, the bridge was destroyed and washed away in a storm.

This saw the two couples then disagree on the budget for a new bridge.

When speaking of the issue to Dayton News, Emily claimed that a $12,000 replacement was eventually decided upon.

This then moved to an $18,000 bridge which was approved by the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office.

However, according to the Clarks, their neighbors backed out last minute and decided to hire an engineer and install a $30,000 bridge without consulting them.
