Santosh Gupta-Bala, 64, of Blue Bell, was taking items from the trunk when her car began to roll backward, said the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. She tried to get back into the car but fell underneath and was hit, authorities said.
It happened on the 900 block of Bridge Court around 6:30 p.m., said Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
Gupta-Bala was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg where she died from multiple traumatic injuries, Buglio said. The manner of death was ruled accidental.
The Coroner’s Office and Catasauqua police continue to investigate.
