A gun threat led to a temporary lockdown Tuesday morning at Northampton Area High School, the district’s superintendent said. Superintendent Joseph Kovalchik told lehighvalleylive.com his office was notified early Tuesday a student was in possession of a firearm at the school at 1619 Laubach Ave. in the borough. School administrators and police immediately followed district safety procedures, which included securing the building and the student, Kovalchik stated in a letter sent home to parents Tuesday.
