Have you ever walked through a little town during a snowstorm before? Well, that is something I’ve never done before until a couple weeks ago. In mid January of 2024, parts of PA got hit with a snowstorm. One of those areas being Jim Thorpe, which is in Carbon County. This area on Friday morning had a snowstorm, which lasted for most of the day.
At the time, I had plans for a mini road trip through northern PA and into upstate NY. However, mother nature had other plans that Friday morning. To be fair, the weather had forcasted for that snowstorm for about a week or two. So, I knew it was going to hit right as I wanted to start my road trip.
When the snowstorm started, I knew that driving in my little sedan up through northern Pennsylvania would not be a good idea. My front wheel drive car is not built to drive or manage tons of snow, slush, and ice. Especially on the back roads and little streets in small, Pennsylvania towns near state parks, it would’ve been dangerous.

But I still wanted to walk around and do something while I was in the area. Though it had been snowing since the early morning hours, with the snow slowly but surely accummulating over time, I decided that a mini walk-through of Jim Thorpe would be good enough.
