HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – Homicide charges have been filed against a New Berlinville man who police said was the shooter in an incident that took place in Three Springs on Saturday.
John E. Stout, 62, is facing four counts of attempted murder and 22 felony and misdemeanor charges including aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure following an incident on Feb. 10 in which he allegedly shot his neighbor during a verbal argument.
Shortly after 3 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police and Huntingdon County EMS were called for reports of a shooting. According to a criminal complaint, a red and silver Chevrolet truck approached a residence on Luciano Bottom Road and the driver pointed a black gun out the window and fired shots. Someone in the home started to run and was struck by gun fire in the abdomen.

The shooter was later identified as Stout, according to the complaint.
While en route to the location, Stout called 911 and spoke with police. Stout allegedly said that his neighbors cut a tree down that blocked access to his cabin and, in response, “shot a clip over their heads.”
