Pennsylvania Man Arrested for DUI and Drug Charges

In Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, a troubling incident unfolded on the morning of November 23, 2023, leading to the arrest of 47-year-old Joshua A. Schwartz for multiple charges, including driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The Slate Belt Regional Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of E. Pennsylvania Avenue, where it was discovered that a single vehicle had collided with two parked cars.

Upon arrival at the scene at approximately 9:49 a.m., officers encountered Schwartz, the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident. Initial observations suggested Schwartz was under the influence of a controlled substance, prompting officers to conduct roadside tests. The results led to Schwartz’s immediate arrest and subsequent Drug Influence Evaluation, which confirmed the initial suspicions.

Schwartz was then transported to a local hospital for a legal blood draw. The toxicology report, based on the blood analysis, provided the necessary evidence to file charges against him.
