Pastor helps to organize community patrols in Allentown’s 1st Ward after multiple shootings

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown neighborhood that’s seen its share of shootings over the last few months says it’s taking matters into its own hands. Neighbors in the First Ward, where six people were shot and two were killed back in December, are teaming up to take back their streets. Rev. Jimmie Rivera, pastor at City Limits Church, said he’s lived in Allentown’s First Ward for more than 30 years, but what he experienced last December with his grandson shook him to his core.
