Five charged with retail theft ring across Pennsylvania

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — The attorney general has announced five people have been charged for an organized retail theft operation that targeted stores across nine counties in Pennsylvania.

Attorney General Michelle Henry says five people targeted retail stores across nine counties spanning southeastern and southcentral Pennsylvania for over the course of three months.

Investigators state between February 28 and May 30, the group stole over-the-counter medications and other health and beauty products from Giant, Weis Markets, and Wegmans.

The total value of stolen items was worth more than $71,000.

Housekeeper arraigned on felony theft charges

The following five people have been charged;

  • Marlin Polanco, 19
  • Malik McDonald, 20
  • Cartier Hardy, 20
  • Homario Oldacre, 20
  • Lorenzo Walters, 20

The five targeted nine counties in PA including Cumberland, Dauphin, York, Lancaster, Union, Lehigh, Berks, Chester, and Northumberland.

“These thefts not only impact businesses but also harm our communities by affecting the availability of essential products,” said Attorney General Henry. “The collaboration between my office, multiple district attorneys, and local police departments has been instrumental in fighting for justice. Our commitment is to tackle these crimes head-on to protect our communities from these harmful actions,” Henry added.
