Bring a McParent: Phillipsburg McDonald’s Tells High Schoolers to McHang with Supervision

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – In a McBold move to address ongoing issues, the McDonald’s located at 1215 Route 22 West on Memorial Parkway has a policy impacting high school students.

Effective immediately, the fast-food restaurant will no longer allow high schoolers on the premises without parental supervision. This sweeping measure, posted on the restaurant’s order window, was deemed necessary after numerous failed attempts to resolve escalating issues.

The restaurant’s management has cited persistent problems with damage and disruptive behavior as the driving forces behind this policy. Despite several previous compromises aimed at the high school crowd, the situation has reached a point where the management feels that zero exceptions are necessary to maintain order and ensure the safety of both staff and patrons.

The Phillipsburg store was just re-opened in 2024 after new inside and façade improvements were made. This included new parking for pickup and app orders, kiosk ordering and various upgrades to indoor and outdoor seating, plus landscaping.
