PA students can qualify for free tuition at this local college

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (WKBN)- A local college has announced that it has started a new scholarship program so that some more students can potentially receive free tuition.

Westminster College announced that its new Westminster Advantage Scholarship will take effect in the fall of 2025.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be Pennsylvania residents with a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher and have a total family annual income of $75,000 or less.

Westminster College President Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson released a statement in a press release:

“We want more students to take advantage of the opportunities Westminster College has to offer. The College has a long tradition of offering robust financial aid to students. This is just one more way we are making a Westminster education genuinely affordable.”

According to the press release, students must do the following to be automatically considered for the scholarship:

  • Apply to Westminster as a full-time student
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 academic year
  • Apply for a Pennsylvania State Grant through PHEAA for the 2025-2026 academic year
