Central Bucks Again Talking About Closing Linden Elementary School

DOYLESTOWN, PA—It looks like Linden Elementary School is back on the chopping block as the Central Bucks School District works on a plan to revamp its aging buildings.

At a meeting last week, the district’s Operations Committee reviewed plans to tackle eight of the district’s 15 elementary school buildings. The eight schools discussed are Barclay, Buckingham, Doyle, Gayman, Kutz, Linden, Titus and Warwick.

“We know these buildings are in bad shape,” said Central Bucks COO Tara Houser. “They all need significant work.”

Houser presented four different plans to tackle the buildings, three of which called for closing Linden. None of the plans have been adopted or even voted on by the school board, but the district knows it needs to address issues with the buildings sooner rather than later.
