Easton shoppers and diners, prepare to travel back in time to a simpler and more elegant era. The team behind Salvage Goods is bringing its vintage wares alongside simple but delicious treats to a second location, reports local media outlet WFMZ .
Salvage Goods II Gilded, as the new iteration is to be dubbed, is taking over the space recently vacated by Melt Ice Cream Bar at 108 South Third Street. Owner Heidi Markow is aiming for an early December opening.
While the retail aspect of the business will emphasize “gilded elegance”, the refreshments will provide a taste of Americana; classic, nostalgic treats certain to delight every customer. Markow describes the offerings, saying “Think simplicity, old fashioned banana splits, hot chocolate made like they did in the turn of the century, soda floats, chocolate malted milkshakes, old fashioned ice cream sundaes.”
Markow states that even the means of preparation will be an homage to a simpler time. “We’re going to turn it into an old-fashioned shop, kind of like Woolworth’s, where you could go to get a cup of coffee, soda float or a banana split. It’ll be a very simple menu, but it’s going to focus on things from a bygone era. We’ll be making items in very traditional ways, like hot chocolate made with shaved chocolate instead of powdered chocolate.”
