It seems almost biblical that much of Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England has not seen measurable rain for 40 days plus in some cases. For many weather observing stations in the region, the last time it rained was September 29th. We have an approaching front and it seems loaded enough to produce up to a half inch or so of rain in some places and that at least will help with wildfire conditions around the area.
A half inch of rain is a start but we have deficit of 6 to 7 inches to make up and that is going to take more than 1 cold front to accomplish. In the meantime satellite loops show clouds increasing from the west today and radars are actually rather loaded up with rain to the west. Temperatures today will top out in the low to mid 60s from north to south. Some areas inland may have a tough time breaking 60 as any morning sun fades away. Rain should arrive during the mid and late afternoon from west to east and it will be mostly gone by daybreak Monday.
