Skimming devices found at 2 Royal Farms stores

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Montgomery and Delaware counties said they found credit card skimming devices at a couple of Royal Farms locations.

Collegeville police said they found a skimmer on the self-checkout counter at a store at 207 East Main St., near First Avenue, Monday morning. Investigators said they don’t know how long it was there.

Two days earlier, Marple Township police said they found a skimmer on a cash register at the Royal Farms in Broomall, located at 2130 West Chester Pike. Investigators said it may have been there for at least a week.

Skimmers are devices disguised to look like black card readers that capture data like card numbers and PINs.

Authorities urge customers who went to these Royal Farms stores recently to check their bank and credit card statements for unauthorized purchases.
