Data of families, educators in Easton community impacted by cybersecurity incident, EASD says

EASTON, Pa. – Easton Area School District said Monday a cybersecurity incident involving the data of families and educators within the Easton community is being investigated.

The incident involved PowerSchool, a software vendor which provides the district’s Student Information System, according to an email sent out to the district community.

PowerSchool said somebody gained unauthorized access to PowerSchool SIS customer data, according to the email from EASD. PowerSchool told the district the data taken primarily includes parent and student contact information with data elements such as name and address information, according to the EASD email…
