ALLENTOWN, Pa. – “I’m so excited for the Lehigh Valley to receive that money. I think the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania across the board is on the rise when it comes to economic development,” said Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro while at a stop in Allentown.
As part of the Chips and Science Act, the U.S. Department of Commerce finalized $93 million for semiconductor manufacturer Infinera. The investment will bring 290 full-time and 500 construction jobs locally. This as the California-based company, with an already Macungie-based facility, expands into Bethlehem.
Palmer Township’s Coherent, a fellow tech manufacturer, is set to get $79 million to expand in Easton. This is expected to create an estimated 320 manufacturing and 40 construction jobs…
