Snow showers to impact Lehigh Valley, Berks, Poconos, and New Jersey

A warm front approaching from our west this evening will produce scattered snow showers and even a period of some steady light snow for a few hours. After 6:00 or 7:00 p.m., we should see this snow working into the area with the greatest chance occurring from the I-78 corridor and points north. For the Delaware Valley, southern New Jersey, and Delaware, a few scattered rain and snow showers are expected but no accumulation should occur here. However, for several across the Lehigh Valley, Berks, and west-central New Jersey, it’s not out of the question we see at least a coating with maybe some isolated spots getting close to 1 inch. Meanwhile across the Poconos and far northwestern New Jersey, more widespread 1 inch snowfall totals can be expected with perhaps even a few spots seeing around 2 inches. While this is obviously nothing that significant, any roads and any untreated surfaces may become a little slippery later this evening. By midnight, the precipitation should be moving…..
