NORRISTOWN — A Philadelphia woman was sent to prison after she admitted to purchasing five firearms using straw purchase schemes, including at a gun store in Montgomery County, and transferring them to a man who was prohibited by law from possessing guns.
Addie Lena Bey, 26, of the 4900 block of Wyalusing Avenue, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 5 to 10 years in the State Correctional Institution at Muncy after she pleaded guilty to charges of corrupt organizations, making materially false statements and conspiracy in connection with incidents that occurred between 2020 and 2023.
“It’s a very serious crime, one of the most serious we have under the Crimes Code,” Judge Steven T. O’Neill addressed Bey before imposing the sentence. “Guns are a ravage upon our community right now, they just are. Sadly, what we’re facing in our community is everybody wants a gun. Guns are taking many lives. You may not have thought about that.”…
