Man prompts lockdown at Northampton County elementary school, said he needed to ‘commandeer a bus,’ police say

A suspicious man prompted a school and nearby daycares to go into lockdown Friday morning in Bushkill Township, according to authorities.

Township police said in a news release that the man told employees at Jennings Transportation at 129 Meyer Road about 10 a.m. that he needed to “commandeer a bus” and claimed he was acting on behalf of the government.
