Newark, DE — On March 28 at approximately 11:58 p.m., officers with the Newark Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 100 block of Madison Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered that four unoccupied parked vehicles had been struck by a passing vehicle.
According to police, the driver of the striking vehicle was identified as Dwendolyn Creecy, 54, of Newark. Creecy, who serves as the District 4 Councilwoman on the Newark City Council, was at the scene when officers arrived.
Investigators determined that Creecy was impaired at the time of the crash police said. She was taken into custody and transported to Newark Police Headquarters for processing. Police stated that the striking vehicle had been disabled due to the collision and was removed from the scene by tow.
Creecy has been charged with Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence, Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession, and Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane. She was issued all required documentation for upcoming court proceedings and subsequently released to her residence…
