The weekend in Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England will be a volatile one as far as temperatures are concerned. It will culminate Monday with thunderstorms and severe weather risks. Today is going to be very warm and we could even see some record highs. A weather front lies east-west across Upstate NY and Central New England. North of the front it is cold with snow and ice. To the south of the front it will be very warm and sunny with record highs reaching the 80s in many locations. Even the coast will see temperatures reach the 70s before any sea breeze develops along south and east facing shore lines. This very warm weather will be short lived as that weather front will move southward later today and reach Long Island and NYC this evening as winds shift from the west southeast to the east. That brings in cooler air off the ocean for tonight and Sunday. That front will stall out across Southern New Jersey and Southern Pennsylvania Sunday and then move back northward Sunday night.
