Vietnam vet-owned Pennsylvania golf course shut down after land sold to farmer

A Pennsylvania golf course opened more than 30 years ago by a Vietnam veteran has brought its shutters down for good after the land was sold to a local farmer.

Cedar Ridge Golf Course in Gettysburg, near the Northern Maryland border, has seen its final day after 39 years in business and will soon be auctioning off all its equipment both on-site and online. The golf course opened as a 9-hole course in 1988 and expanded to include an additional nine holes the following year.

However, after almost four decades in operation, Vietnam veteran and CEO Dennis Seymore has opted to sell up the approximately 120-acre property he purchased in 1986. He made the announcement on March 25 via the golf course’s official Facebook page , with one comment describing the move as “sad”…
