NORRISTOWN — An Upper Dublin Township woman will face a November homicide trial in connection with charges she neglected her 21-year-old care dependent son who had cerebral palsy and who died in September 2024.
Sherrilynn Hawkins, 43, of the 1100 block of Market Street in the Dresher section of the township, showed no emotion at her formal arraignment hearing in Montgomery County Court as she entered not guilty pleas to charges of first- and third-degree murder, neglect of care of dependent person, abuse of care of dependent person, theft and conspiracy to commit theft in connection with the Sept.18, 2024, death of her son, Tylim Hatchett, who lived with her at the Upper Dublin residence.
Judge Wendy G. Rothstein scheduled Hawkins’ trial to begin on Nov. 15 with jury selection.
First Assistant District Attorney Edward F. McCann Jr. and co-prosecutor Allison Marie Ruth informed the judge that prosecutors will not seek the death penalty in the event Hawkins is convicted of first-degree murder, which is an intentional killing…
