On Friday, Jan. 3 at Newark Penn Station, an officer noticed an unattended black and white zebra print suitcase in front of McDonald’s, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. A handgun with a fully loaded 18-round magazine and an AK-47 style rife were found in the suitcase, along with numerous bullets, Platkin said.
Surveillance footage showed, Jeffrey Kennerk had left one of his two suitcases behind to go to the Amtrak ticket window, where he was boarding a train bound for Virginia, with the next stop being in Trenton, Platkin said.
After exiting the train in Trenton, Kennerk was arrested by officers who had received a tip about Kennerk, Platkin said…
