Bethlehem basement fire renders duplex uninhabitable, investigation ongoing

A family of six has been displaced after flames ignited Wednesday afternoon at a Bethlehem duplex.

City Fire Chief Michael C. Reich told lehighvalleylive.com the fire began just before 2:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Alaska Street. Crews arrived within minutes, working the fire from the basement area of the two-story home, he said.
