Bucks County Sheriff demands apology to Jewish community from County Commissioner after comments at meeting

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Bucks County Sheriff is demanding an apology from a County Commissioner. Sheriff Fred Harran says Commissioner Bob Harvie needs to apologize to the Jewish community after comments Harvie made earlier this week during the Commissioners meeting on May 7.

The bulk of Wednesday’s meeting was taken over by a 90-minute public comment session on the sheriff’s application to join the ICE task force. Half were in favor, half against, but it was at the end of the meeting, Sheriff Harran told us, that he was offended when he said he was compared to Nazi Germany.

Commissioner Bob Harvie closed the meeting with a nod to World War II and Victory in Europe Day. Then he went on to say: “There are definite parallels that I see happening, not as great as what happened in 1920s or early 1930s Germany but certainly not too far away from being in the same ballpark.”…
