Community in Schuylkill County rallies for 5-year-old injured in UTV crash

TAMAQUA, Pa. — Walk into Leiby’s Ice Cream House and Restaurant on West Penn Pike in Tamaqua, and on the counter, you might notice a bottle with money inside and a green t-shirt that reads, “Parker strong.” It’s all for 5-year-old Parker Brode; he recently suffered a severe spinal cord injury after he was involved in a UTV crash.

The little boy was flown to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for emergency surgery.
