Residents again swarm council meeting asking for ‘welcoming city’

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following the arrest of 17 workers in Bethlehem last week, city officials are sounding off about lack of transparency from the federal government.

Wednesday morning, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested the workers at Five 10 Flats for alleged immigration violations.

At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, Council President Michael Colon said the actions were “reckless use of their authority.” Colon said officials should have included city law enforcement in their actions…
