A $110 million residential development in Palmer Township totaling more than 400 apartments and townhomes is pushing ahead, which for the township marks a compromise over years of previously planned, undesirable development.
Lehigh Valley developer Lou Pektor is part of a joint venture for the homes at 1492 Van Buren Road, near Route 33. In a news release Wednesday, Pektor and a financing partner, Black Bear Asset Management, announced they would work together on the project, which has been in the works since Pektor negotiated a settlement with the township and former property owner Abe Atiyeh that changed how the property would be used.
The 1492 Van Buren project is in “pre-development” and has received all approvals, according to the news release. Construction is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2026…
