Sentencing delayed for softball coach linked to indecent contact with Montgomery County girl

NORRISTOWN — A Bucks County woman and former softball team coach awaiting sentencing after admitting prosecutors could prove at trial that she had indecent contact with an underage Montgomery County girl on the team should be classified as a sexually violent predator, according to a recommendation issued by a state board that evaluates certain offenders.

The Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board recently opined that Sydney Palmer, 30, who at the time of her arrest was residing in the unit block of Dorchester Lane in Richboro, Bucks County, is a sexually violent predator, according to documents filed in Montgomery County Court.

That opinion triggered Assistant District Attorney Lauren Elizabeth Marvel to seek a hearing at which Judge Risa Vetri Ferman will make a final determination as to whether Palmer meets legal criteria to be classified as a sexually violent predator…
