Verdict reached in trial of 2 men charged in deadly home invasion

Thursday afternoon, the gavel fell in a hushed Montgomery County courtroom as jurors delivered a verdict in the trial stemming from a December 8 home invasion that left 25‑year‑old Andrew Gaudio dead and his mother, Bernadette Gaudio, paralyzed. “I’ve lived on Meredith Road for 14 years and never expected to see a trial here,” said neighbor Michael Parker, who watched the proceedings from the public gallery. “When the verdict was read, you could feel the weight lift for the Gaudio family.”

In the wake of the shooting, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele secured the arrests of both suspects. According to a DA press release dated December 17, 2024, Kelvin Roberts, 42, of Philadelphia, was charged with first‑degree murder, robbery, burglary, and related offenses after investigators tied him to the scene based on forensic evidence and cell‑tower data. Days earlier, on December 12, law enforcement announced the apprehension of Charles Fulforth, 41, of Jenkintown, on second‑degree murder and burglary charges following an intensive investigation that included dash‑cam footage and witness interviews.
