Update: Part of Pennsylvania under a heat advisory until Wednesday evening

On Tuesday at 2:46 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated heat advisory in effect until Wednesday at 8 p.m. for Western Chester and Eastern Chester as well as Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

The weather service says to anticipate, “Heat index values up to 103 degrees.”

“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses,” describes the weather service.

  • Recognize heat-related issues: Recognize the warning signs and familiarize yourself with symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
  • Dress for comfort: Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing to stay comfortable.

  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas for outdoor workers.
  • If someone is overwhelmed by the heat, swiftly relocate them to a cool, shaded location.
