Bucks County woman avoids prison in $20K PPP loan fraud case

A New Britain Township woman has avoided prosecution on felonies related to defrauding the federal Covid Paycheck Protection Program of more than $20,000 and has been sentenced to seven years’ probation and ordered to repay the money.

Carol A. Miller, 55, of Palace Court, pleaded no contest, or “nolo contendere,” earlier this month to misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and misapplying entrusted government property, and received a consecutive seven years of probation on both charges from Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller, according to court documents…
