Pennsylvania plant to build up to 450 military tri-axles

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — Hundreds of new military dump trucks will be built right here in the Keystone State.

Mack Defense announced this week they have been awarded a five-year, up to $221.8 million contract to build up to 450 more heavy duty dump trucks for the U.S. Army.

The contract, the company says, was awarded in June and adds to ongoing production of the trucks, which resemble standard Mack Granite tri-axle dump trucks. They have heavier-duty rear axles, all-wheel drive, increased ride height, and more…
