FRANKLIN (Hunterdon) – Forty-five cats and dogs were found in “deplorable conditions” at an animal rescue owner’s township home on Aug. 18, said Annie Trinkle, founder and executive director of Animal Alliance.
The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant following an investigation into allegations of animal cruelty. Thirty-seven cats and eight dogs were removed, including seven animals that went for immediate veterinary treatment.
The other animals are now in the care of several approved animal organizations, including Animal Alliance which recently merged with Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, forming one of the larger private animal welfare nonprofits in the state…
