Emmaus standoff ends peacefully after armed man threatens self-harm, cops say

An armed man threatening to harm himself led to a nearly two-hour standoff Monday evening in Emmaus, police said.

Borough Police Chief Jason B. Apgar told lehighvalleylive.com the incident unfolded just before 5:50 p.m. in the 600 block of Furnace Street.
