Emlenton Man Dies in Hit-and-Run; Kennerdell Man Faces Homicide Charges

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An Emlenton man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Richland Township on Saturday, and a Kennerdell man now faces felony homicide charges in connection with the incident, according to court documents.

The victim has been identified as Lane Russell, 73, of Emlenton. According to Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh, he died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Court records show Bradley Allen Barnhart, 38, of Kennerdell, was arraigned late Saturday night before Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey. He was charged with the following offenses:

  • Homicide by Vehicle While DUI, Felony 2
  • Homicide By Vehicle, Felony 3
  • Reckless Driving, Summary
