Longtime Lehigh Valley plastics manufacturer is sold 4 years after founder was killed by a driver high on meth

The Palmer Township plastics company that was founded by the late businessman and community activist J. Lee Boucher has been sold.

Bardot Plastics Inc., which has a plant along McFadden Road, was sold to Altoona-based New Pendulum Corp. in July for $5.8 million, according to Northampton County property records. The new subsidiary will be named Bardot Plastics LLC.

“Since 1973, Bardot Plastics has built an excellent reputation with its customers, and much of that stems from the founding beliefs instilled by Lee Boucher, and the continued stewardship by the Boucher family over more than 50 years,” said Clark Stapelfeld, president and CEO of New Pendulum. “This acquisition is an excellent example of our investment philosophy, not only from an operational standpoint, but also in terms of cultural fit and how we choose to do business.”…
