Residents in this Northampton County development told to boil their water for the weekend

Pennsylvania American Water on Friday afternoon advised its customers in a Northampton County development to boil their water.

The advisory affects about 28 customers in the Berry Hollow Development, east of Route 611 in Lower Mount Bethel Township.

“Pennsylvania American Water experienced a loss in positive water pressure on Friday, September 26 due to an issue with a pump,” the advisory states. “A loss of positive water pressure is a signal of the existence of conditions that could allow contamination to enter the distribution system through backflow by back-pressure or back-siphonage…
