In an effort to bolster safety and transparency within the home care sector, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging is set to reveal a new tool designed to enhance the screening process for in-home care workers. The announcement, according to a recent advisory, will detail a web-based platform intended for use by the state’s Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), enabling them to better evaluate the hiring practices of contracted in-home care providers.
During the reveal, Jason Kavulich, the Secretary of Aging, is scheduled to be accompanied by several Lehigh County officials. Set to take place at the Cedar View Apartment Complex, this initiative arises amidst increasing concerns surrounding elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
