Man sentenced for murdering girlfriend, attacking child in Wilson Borough

WILSON BORO., Pa. – A man who stabbed his girlfriend to death and attempted to kill his 4-year-old daughter in a Wilson Borough home has been sentenced on Thursday, the Northampton County DA’s Office announced.

Richard Fantauzzi-Aviles, age 40, was sentenced to the maximum possible sentences for third-degree murder and attempted homicide in the August 29, 2023, stabbing death of Shante Mason and stabbing attack on his 4-year-old daughter in Wilson Borough, according to the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials say that Fantauzzi-Aviles was sentenced to the maximum possible sentence of 20 to 40 years in state prison for the killing of Shante Mason. At the same proceeding, Fantauzzi-Aviles was sentenced to an additional maximum possible sentence of 20 to 40 years in state prison for the attempted killing of his 4-year-old daughter, the DA’s Office said.

The sentences will run consecutive such that the total sentence imposed was 40 to 80 years in state prison. Fantauzzi-Aviles waived any right to appeal his conviction or sentence…
