Upper Pottsgrove man jailed for domestic assault

NORRISTOWN — An Upper Pottsgrove Township man is serving a stint behind bars for strangling a girlfriend during a domestic-related incident.

Ryan Joshua Phillips, 38, of the 900 block of Willow Street, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 11½-to-23-months in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of strangulation in connection with the November 2024 incident that occurred at the Willow Street residence.

Judge Thomas M. DelRicci, who accepted a plea agreement in the case, said Phillips must serve the first 90 days behind bars and the remainder of the sentence under house arrest. The judge also ordered Phillips to complete three years of probation consecutive to parole, meaning Phillips will be under court supervision for about five years…
