New emergency fund, food drive aims to help benefit ASD students, families in need amid food insecurity

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Allentown School District and local organizations in the Lehigh Valley are teaming up to help provide food and other essential items amid the ongoing federal government shutdown and disruptions to SNAP benefits.

The Allentown School District Foundation said it is joining in partnership with the Allentown School District’s launch of an Emergency Fund & Non-Perishable Food Drive to assist the over 16,300 students and families served by the district.
