Driver trapped in vehicle after live wires fell during high winds in Hunterdon County

WEST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A driver was briefly trapped inside a vehicle Sunday afternoon after live power lines came down on top of it during strong winds in West Amwell Township, according to the West Amwell Fire Company.

Crews were called to George Washington Road around 12:25 p.m. for a report of downed wires on an occupied vehicle. Responding firefighters confirmed one person was inside but not injured, with live electrical lines draped over the car.
