Doylestown Borough Residents to See Increases in Property Taxes, Parking Fees, and Water Bills in 2026 Budget

Doylestown Borough Council has approved the 2026 Preliminary Budget. The budget addresses a $292,498 operating deficit in the General Fund. The deficit is mainly due to a $356,785 increase in the Borough’s share of the Central Bucks Regional Police Department’s 2026 budget. To balance the budget, the Borough will raise property taxes, parking fees, and parking fines starting next year.

In 2026, the millage rate for general purposes will increase by 0.5 mills. The average homeowner will pay $674.86 in Borough real estate taxes, an increase of $15.45. Borough taxes will account for 11.15% of a homeowner’s total real estate tax bill. Parking meter and lot fees will rise from $1.50 to $1.75 per hour.
