Prosecutors fight Lansdale woman’s request to withdraw plea in school threats case

NORRISTOWN — Montgomery County prosecutors are fighting a Lansdale woman’s request to withdraw her no-contest plea and to vacate her probationary sentence on charges she threatened to “shoot up” North Penn High School during a disturbance.

Cieria Alexis Wynder, during written and oral responses in court, denied suffering from any physical or mental impairment that would impact her understanding of her plea and comprehended what she was doing, and her request to withdraw the plea and go to trial should be denied, county Assistant District Attorney Jediah Grobstein wrote in court documents.

“Defendant’s plea was knowing, intelligent and voluntary and her claim of confusion and miscommunication is directly contradicted by both her oral and written colloquies,” Grobstein argued. “All the evidence suggests that the defendant is merely unsatisfied with the sentence imposed by this court and is seeking a second bite of the apple. Defendant’s petition should be denied.”…
