Allentown Pursuit Ends in Fatal Crash; Suspect Dead, Two Pennsylvania Troopers Injured

A man has died, and two Pennsylvania State Police troopers sustained injuries following an early morning pursuit in Allentown this past Sunday, according to several reports. Fox29 details that the chase began around 12:13 a.m. when a 27-year-old Allentown man in a 1999 Ford F-150 failed to comply with a traffic stop and led troopers on a chase. The encounter escalated when the suspect reportedly struck the troopers with his truck near Lehigh Street and 29th Street as they tried to apprehend him.

After the collision, the pursuit resumed, with the man losing control of his truck at 12th Street and Vultee Street, leading to a crash involving a fire hydrant, utility pole, and a commercial building. The impact of the crash ejected the driver from his vehicle, 6abc reports. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers administered medical aid before Allentown EMS transported both the injured troopers and the driver to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. The identity of the slain driver was later revealed as Cristian Jimenez, as confirmed by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, according to CBS News Philadelphia.
