Pa. judge kept ‘book of grudges’ criticizing people who appeared in her courtroom, complaint says

A Lehigh County magisterial district judge kept a “book of grudges” in her office and encouraged her staff to add entries about people with whom they worked, according to a complaint accusing her of years of misconduct.

Pennsylvania’s Judicial Conduct Board filed charges Wednesday against Magisterial District Judge Amy Zanelli alleging she had violated its standards of conduct for magisterial district judges multiple times since she was sworn in in January 2022.

In one example cited in the complaint, Zanelli snapped at one of her employees in April 2022 when the employee tried twice to correct her about a statement she’d made about a sentencing, the complaint said…
