Fake cop in unmarked car pulling over drivers in New Jersey: police

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.Y. (PIX11) — New Jersey residents are being warned about a fake cop in an unmarked vehicle trying to pull drivers over, according to police.

The Raritan Township Police Department has launched an investigation following multiple reports of an unidentified person in an unmarked car trying to pull vehicles over.

“Impersonating a law enforcement officer is a serious crime that erodes public trust and endangers the safety of the community. Anyone who falsely presents themselves as a peace officer will be arrested and prosecuted,” the department said in a Facebook post.
